P1 Assessments
You can book online within our Bookings Calendar once you register your account during the Check-out process.
Please note: Expert Driver Training separates our Instructors and Assessors, allowing you to book a P Assessment and have lessons with us which provides you a seamless experience throughout your journey to obtain your licence. If you have had a lesson within 6 months, you may not use the same Instructor/Assessor to conduct your P1 Assessment.
Things to Know:
-
YOU MUST COMPLETE YOUR HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST PRIOR TO BOOKING A P1 ASSESSMENT. We are unable to register your P1 Assessment with State Growth if you have not completed this.
You can take your Hazard Perception Test here: https://www.platesplus.tas.gov.au/plates-plus/hpt
-
YOU MUST HAVE THE REQUIRED LEARNER HOURS RECORDED IN YOUR LOG BOOK (or Plates Plus Logbook App). Only one will be accepted. Failure to meet this requirement will result in your Assessment being forfeited along with any payment made.
-
P1 Assessments are held at a number of locations across the greater Hobart area. It's recommended you select the Assessment area that is closest to your home.
-
Please check your Drivers Licence for the Earliest Assessment Date. You can only sit a P1 Assessment on or after that date. If you book your Assessment before this date, your Assessment can not be taken and you may have to pay a cancellation fee.
-
Please only book one Assessment at a time. If you book multiple Assessments and wish to cancel subsequent Assessments, the cancellation fee will be the full amount paid.
-
If you're using your own vehicle, the vehicle must meet Tasmania Government suitable vehicle guidelines. See Transport Services for more information. Our Assessors will inspect your vehicle prior to the commencement of your P1 Assessment and if the vehicle does not meet these guidelines, it may result in the Assessment being forfeited along with any payment made.
-
If you're using an Expert Driver Training vehicle, please note that our Assessment vehicles are AUTOMATIC. All manual Assessments must be undertaken in your vehicle.
